K.I.D.S.
My decision to revamp the Mac Miller mixtape K.I.D.S. Kickin Incredibly Dope Shit came from my ambition to capture what I thought to be the overarching theme throughout his lyrics. This theme, not going undiscovered by today’s adolescence, is one of invulnerability and carelessness. With this in mind, I began to reevaluate the entire original visual system of K.I.D.S and decided to break my project into four components: a redesign of the album’s vinyl, a mock tour poster, a conceivably accurate Instagram post, and an artist banner/currently playing graphic in Spotify. My vision became present when I put the idea of freethinking carelessness that drives youthful ideals at the forefront. I based the concept of each illustration off the idea that Mac Miller drew them himself while also recording his mixtape.
